NON-LINEAR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THE ISO 20ft EQUIPMENT SHELTER (NON EXPANDABLE).

NON-LINEAR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THE ISO 20ft EQUIPMENT SHELTER (NON EXPANDABLE).

Introduction:

These military truck structures are used for storage, transportation and housing at war places with extreme hazardous climatic conditions. These shelters are internally equipped with electronic racks, computers, batteries, ACs and war equipments.

Non-Linear Dynamic Analysis of military truck shelters

Challenges:

Complex physics representation due to composite sandwich panels with beams intruded into Puf (foam). Panels Attached with many number of riveted and bolt joints. Nonlinear behavior of Wood, Hyper-elastic and rock material. Complex contact conditions. Complex model with large number of DOFs.

Scope of Work:

The non-linear static analyses was performed on the ISO 20ft Equipment Shelter which weights 2.54 Tonnes. The results were presented as stress and displacement plots. The ISO 20ft Equipment Shelter is subjected to following load cases.
1. Pressure load tests performed on roof and floor of the shelter as per MIL-STD-907B.
2. Wind load test performed on the shelter as per MIL-STD-907B.
3. Flat and rotational drop shock tests performed on the shelter as per MIL-STD-907B, Method 5.3.13.
4. Random vibration analysis as per MIL-STD-810G Method 514.6 Annexure C

Engineering Solution:

Sub-modeling technique was used to increase the accuracy of the problem in important areas and the factor of safety of the system was optimized above 2
